Kiteboarding in Cape Hatteras

Kite Point – A Hatteras favorite, halfway between Avon & Buxton. Park on the side of the road, but park at your own risk and make sure you are not in an illegal no-parking zone.
The 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Turnouts
north of Avon, there are 3 soundside beaches that are great places to set up for the day and kite in shallow, friendly waters. This is a great place to bring your family as opposed to the packed beaches at Kite Point or the lack-of-beach at Isabelle's.
Isabelle's –
South of Frisco, there is a parking lot on the soundside and a small access path to the water.

Ego Beach – Park at the Canadian Hole and walk across the street to the Ocean. This is a great place if you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle or a ORV Beach Driving Permit.
The Lighthouse – Enter the CAHA National Park and turn left into the "Old Lighthouse" parking lot. Beware, the waves here can get pretty heavy and make sure you know where the Jetty is.
The Cove – A rare occurrence, but heavenly when conditions are just right.
The Southside – Typically the Bath Houses or Isabelle's (ocean-launch).
Ferry Docks – Wayy down in Hatteras, park at the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum or continue down the beach road if you have 4WD and permit.
